Cape Town – It’s official! CW has ordered a pilot for a Jane the Virgin spinoff.
The network announced in a press released on Wednesday that it has requested trial episodes for s spinoff of not only the American telenovela but also for Riverdale, as well as a reboot of Nancy Drew, Vulture reports
Sharing the news on social media and the title of the new show on social media, Gina Rodrigues posted a photo of herself and her tv child Mateo, played by Elias Janssen.
Alongside the photo she wrote: “We got good news from the CW! Jane will be birthing a SPINOFF!!!!! Jane The Novelas!!! [sic]”

CW announced in 2017 that season 5 would be the last of Jane the Virgin but added that a spinoff was a possibility.
