Bhopal: The new DIG of Bhopal Urban, Irshad Wali, assumed office here on Wednesday. The outgoing officer, Dharmendra Choudhary, handed over charge to Wali. DIG Irshad Wali said that maintaining law and order in the State capital would be his priority. Every possible effort would be made to check crimes against women. Dispose pending cases, property offences and to curb cyber crime would be his focus.
He said that with the advancement in the technologies would be used in controlling crime and streamlining traffic. This would prove more accurate and safe for the citizens, he added. He said, greater emphasis would be paid to check crimes against women. Several good initiatives have been taken by State Police Headquarters and district police for curbing crime against woman and efforts would be made to implement in a better manner and explore more good efforts in the same direction.
The action against goons and anti-social elements would be taken continuously. Cyber crimes have increased and it requires awareness among the citizens. More stress would be paid in creating awareness towards digital transactions, he said, adding that the citizens would be encouraged to increase their participation in supporting police and more participation of Nagar Suraksha Samiti would be sought.
He said that he would make strategy based on functioning of police officials and personnel working in the state capital and would implement it to yield better results. The police personnel would be encouraged to remain fit which would help them in shouldering their responsibilities in a better manner.
