On Wednesday, hot mirchi bhajji were served along with meals to devotees taking part in the annual Gavisiddeshwar Jatra in Koppal.

The arrangements were made by the Gavi Mutt and donor devotees. Preparation of the bhajji was taken up at points with around 300 cooks engaged.

Approximately five to six lakh of the snacks were served till 2 p.m.

Apart from this, devotees from Alvandi village in the district offered six quintals of ‘boondi’, 50 kg ‘madli’ (both sweets very popular in northern Karnataka) to be served to the devotees coming to the jatra, along with groceries.

Rajendra Singh, known as waterman of India and Magsaysay awardee, will be delivering the valedictory address to mark the conclusion of the three-day Gavisiddeshwar Jatra on Thursday.

‘Nadoja’ Annadaneshwar Shivayogi of Samsthan Mutt in Gadag district, will be among other religious heads to participate in the function.
