The indefinite strike by the Joint Action Council of Teachers Organisations – Government Employees Organisations (JACTO-GEO) entered the second day on Wednesday in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts.
The organisers said that services were affected in government offices while the functioning of schools was partially affected.
The striking employees also resorted to road blockades in all the 12 taluks in the district in support of their charter of demands including restoration of old pension scheme.
As many as 3,308 employees were arrested in Villupuram district during the strike.
