If you works sports at The Herald, you simply cannot go long without typing in the name Mya Parker. A three-sport athlete, she excels 'round the calendar, having earned league and Herald News all scholastic honors in all three sports.

Diman soccer coach Flo Lima is not one to throw superlatives around casually, so it had quite an impact when, last fall, he praised his senior captain for not only her socce rtalent and dedication to the sport, but for her team-first attitude. A prolific goal scorer for three years, Parker this past season functioned primarily as a defender, simply because that's where she was dearly needed. It likely cost her reaching 100 career goals. But she complained not.

We've seen so much of Parker on the fields and on the court, but there's more to her than athletics. We learn that in this question and answer. Enjoy.
