KOLKATA: Winter, it looks, has left the city for good. The met department has predicted that the temperature will be rising over the next few days, heralding the advent of spring.
The department predicted sunny and warm days but comparatively cold nights.
"The north-westerly wind, which brings in the chill, has stopped breezing in and naturally the bite of cold will be missing. Instead, the wet easterly wind has started injecting moisture from the bay. This will continue for the next few days. As a result, the mercury will be rising and this trend will continue till Saturday," said G K Das, director, Regional Meteorological Centre, Kolkata.
The department also said that the minimum temperature is going to rise, hovering around 15/16-degree Celsius, while the maximum temperature will remain around 28°C.
