FALL RIVER — Be prepared to stay out a little late, boxing fans.

The third and final edition of the 2019 Southern New England Golden Gloves amateur boxing tournament, this Saturday night at the Fall River Police Athletic League, 31 Franklin St., is scheduled to include 14 bouts, with champions being crowned in the Open and Novice and Sub-Novice classes. And the card includes more than a few boxers from Fall River's two gyms — the Fall River PAL, with five, and Punishment Striking Systems, with four.

Fans will be treated to some of the top boxers from the first two weeks of the SNEGG, as well as a host of fighters, especially in the Open Class, who will be making their 2019 SNEGG debuts.

If the card runs as listed on promoter Paul Morrissette's press release, the action will start with four special bouts and then a Masters 150-pound match of great local interest as Michael Bryant (Punishment Striking) meets Chris Araujo (Fall River PAL).

The first of the special bouts features a rematch from an excellent Sub-Novice bout week ago, with Michael Gaudreau (2-0 in the 2019 SNEGG) of the PAL meeting Brady Magras of the Big Six stable. Gaudreau has established himself as a crowd favorite. He prevailed last week via a decision.

Punishment Striking's Jeffrey Barbosa meets Abraham Guardaci in a Special at 132 pounds and in the 152-pound Sub-Novice final, Jonathan Moniz of ther PAL faces Matthew Hancock of Young Charles.

The remaining four bouts involving local fighters come in the Open Class.

At 141 pounds, the PAL's Ruben Rouke will face Kevin Walsh of Cappiello Brothers. Rouke fought in Week 1 and won.

At 165 pounds, hard-hitting Josh Sealey of the PAL is pitted against Francis Hogan of Big Six.

At 201 pounds, Stephen Langlais of Punishment Striking meets Emmanuel Annue of Cappiello Brothers.

And in what shapes up as the final bout of the tournament, Johnathan Gruber of Punishment Striking meets Delon Jones of Big Six at 201-plus pounds.

This Saturday's card starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. Morrissette said that barring inclement weather, he expects the show to sell out. Tickets ($30) may be reserved by calling Morissette at 508-636-6173. Tickets will be sold at the door for as long as they last.

The Open and Novice winners at SNEGG advance to the Tournament of Champions New England event at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Boxers unopposed in their weight division finals will be recognized on Saturday.
