Met dept issues hail warning for Friday

Nagpur: The regional weather department on Thursday issued a hailstorm warning for Vidarbha region for Friday.

As per the forecast issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), hailstorm is likely to occur at isolated places in the region. The probability of its occurrence is around 25-50%.


The department has further predicted that few spells of rain might hit the city on Saturday. The minimum temperature for the coming week is expected to be between 12-14 degree Celsius while maximum will be around 30-31 degree Celsius.


The department has also issued warning to farmers. Last year around the same time, rains and hailstorm had reportedly affected winter crops at many places in the region, with standing crop of cotton, wheat, grapes and chickpea in Jalna, Beed, Buldhana, Washim, Amravati and Akola districts of Vidarbha and Marathwada region getting destroyed.
