Ex-union boss awaits fate as former Mirvac execs are set for trial

A pair of former Mirvac executives have been committed to stand trial over allegations they corruptly provided free building services to ex-union boss David Hanna during the construction of his Brisbane home.

Mathew McAllum and Adam Moore were accused of giving Hanna bricklaying, plumbing, air-conditioning, painting, tiling and interior design work between 2012 and 2013.

The pair will go on trial at a date to be set in the Brisbane District Court following a committal hearing on Thursday, while a decision about Mr Hanna has been adjourned until next week.

Mr Hanna, a former union heavyweight, appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday for his committal hearing.

Co-accused Mr McAllum and Mr Moore were each charged with seven counts of corruptly giving or offering valuable consideration to influence favour.

Current and former Mirvac staff, tradespeople and police were among 16 witnesses to give evidence during the hearing.
