CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday announced three committees -- for seat-sharing, manifesto and campaign -- virtually kickstarting the preparedness for the ensuing general elections.
Deputy coordinators K P Munusamy and R Vaithilingam, ministers P Thangamani and S P Velumani and party organising secretary J C D Prabakar have been named members of seat sharing committee. “The panel is set up to hold talks with partners for an alliance led by the AIADMK,” coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami said in a statement.
Former ministers C Ponnaiyan and Natham R Viswanathan, ministers D Jayakumar and C Ve Shanmugam, party organising secretaries S Semmalai and P H Manoj Pandian, and former Rajya Sabha member A W Rabi Bernard are members of the election manifesto committee.
A seven-member campaign committee has been constituted with Lok Sabha deputy speaker M Thambidurai topping the list of members. The others include, ministers Dindigul C Sreenivasan and K A Sengottaiyan, former ministers B Valarmathi, S Gokula Indira and Vaigai Selvan and parliamentary party leader P Venugopal, who will coordinate the campaigners for the party candidates.
