A research and development team from South Korea's Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology has recently developed an eco-friendly toilet which can turn waste into clean energy and even wealth.

The toilet utilises vacuum suction and requires only about 500 millilitres of water to flush the excreta to a microbial reactor nearby.
