Hunt underway for man who dragged a schoolgirl, 16, into the bushes as she walked down a suburban street in broad daylight

A desperate manhunt is underway for a brazen pervert who dragged a schoolgirl into the bushes of a suburban street in broad daylight.
The 16-year-old was walking along the footpath in Kittabilla Street in Chermside West, north of Brisbane, just after midday on Wednesday when she was attacked.
Her attacker, a man believed to be aged in his late 20s or early 30s, placed his hand over her mouth to conceal screams, before hauling her into nearby bushes.

The girl managed to break free of her attacker, struggling and kicking him before she ran away. She fortunately escaped physically uninjured but naturally distraught.
Her attacker was last seen running the opposite way on nearby Buran Street.
He remains on the run from police, who have released an impression of what they believe he looks like.
He is described as Caucasian and aged in his late 20s or early 30s. He is believed to be about 185cm tall with a proportionate build and stubble.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black baseball cap, black-framed sunglasses with orange reflector lenses, a white t-shirt and black baseball shorts.

Police are hoping to speak with anyone who noticed a man fitting the description in Chermside West.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage are also encouraged to come forward.
