AMBALA: Patiala-based Punjabi style shoemaker (Punjabi Jutti) Sukhwinder Singh was to receive some cloth used in making the shoes from Surat, Gujarat, which was sent via parcel booked with mail service of the Indian Railway on October 25, 2018 but he never got it.

Sukhwinder has been running from pillar to post, but the railway officials have no clue.

Having tweeted more than 47 times to the railway minister and the officials, everytime he receives the same reply: your issue has been forwarded to the concerned authorities.

Sukhwinder said, "The parcel worth Rs 2 lakh was sent from Surat by my trade partner on October 25. It was destined to Patiala via Ambala. But yet, I have not received it and the railway officials have not been able to trace the parcel. I am a small shoemaker. So, even if I receive the parcel now, it would be of no use. I demand a claim for my lost item due to the negligence of railways. I have visited Ambala railway officials nearly 20 times for this issue, but received no satisfactory replies.”

Ambala senior divisional commercial manager Hari Mohan said, "I have recently joined the post here and I would trace the parcel soon."
