MPUAT gets grant from WB & ICAR

JAIPUR: Udaipur's Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) has been granted a fund by the World Bank (WB) and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), under its collaboration project National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) for students' research and scholarships to study at a foreign university.
Around Rs 25 crore has been granted by the WB and ICAR to the university especially for the students studying in the undergraduate program. MPUAT is the only University in the state to get the fund and amongst 75 universities in the entire country. With the help of this fund, around 2,700 students studying in the university will be benefited which has been granted institutional development, infrastructural development and students development through training, soft skills and academics.
The project coordinator in the university Ajay Sharma said that this is a golden opportunity for the university to improve the quality of infrastructure of the place. "The grant will help us improve the infrastructure of the university and we have been planning on that. The money is granted to develop the research facilities for the undergraduate students in all the departments," said Ajay.
The grant will be given in three installments. First installment for 2017-18 has been received and other two for the year 2018-19 and 20 will be issued later. The grant also includes fund for the teachers named as 'faculty development program' in which seminars, workshops and lecturers will be conducted. Students and faculty of agriculture engineering, BSC in agriculture and community science will be benefited by this.
