Second half strikes from attacking medios Peter Peixote and Arthur Mascarenhas enabled Assolda Veterans to register a convincing 2-0 win against Chinchinim Veterans and enter the semifinals of the Texas Veterans Football Tournament organised by Texas Boys, Varca, played at Varca grounds on Wednesday.

Chinchinim Veterans keeper Charlton Furtado could do nothing much to stop Assolda Veterans from scoring. Assolda Veterans went into the lead ten minutes into the second session when a through pass fell to Peter Peixote, he made the most of it to bang the ball to the far corner of Chinchinim Veterans net.

Goaded by the success, Assolda Veterans thereafter began to have good control over the proceedings and buttressed their lead through Arthur Mascarenhas, who was left unmarked.In the last ten minutes of play Chinchinim Veterans made last ditch efforts to find the mark but in vain.
