PATNA: At least 120 students, including 60 girls, have passed the main entrance exam for admissions to Class VI (2019-20 session) in Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya-Jamui, the results of which were announced by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Wednesday. As many as 1,182 candidates wrote the exam at two centres in Patna on January 4.
The results will be uploaded to www.biharboardonline.com and www.biharboard.online on Thursday.
The students selected in the main examination will have to undergo a medical test, after which they will be admitted to the school. The Bihar board chairman Anand Kishor has asked the school principal to conduct the medical test and other necessary procedure for admissions of the selected candidates. “The school has given the deadline to complete the admission procedure within a month, so that there won’t be any delay in new academic session of Class VI,” he said.
Kishor said the Board has also prepared a waiting list and sent to the school principal. “The school will give chance to waiting list candidates if some the selected candidates are rejected on medical grounds,” he said.
It was the first time that the BSEB has successfully conducted the preliminary and main exams of Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya before the commencement of new academic session.
The BSEB has decided to conduct the preliminary entrance test of the school in December and the main exam in January every year.
The Board has received total 11,436 applications for the preliminary examination held in December. The candidates went through examinations which are based on objective as well as subjective type questions from mathematics, English, Hindi, science, social science and reasoning.
The school was set up in 2010 by chief minister Nitish Kumar along the lines of the Netarhat Residential School in Jharkhand. In 2015, the school has record of producing 30 out of 31 in top 10 rank holders in Class X board exam.
