Fans are gearing up for another exciting edition of India’s cash-rich tournament, the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of the tournament, as per report in a leading daily, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has showed interest in buying some franchise stake in Rajasthan Royals (RR). AB Corp CEO Ramesh Pulapaka has confirmed the reports to a leading daily saying Abhishek met Manoj Badale, the Co-Owner of RR, in London.
To note, Abhishek owns a team in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Jaipur Pink Panther besides share in ISL franchise Chennaiyin FC. Earlier last week, a PTI report also confirmed the owners of the Royals are looking to sell half of their stake in the franchise and Bachchans’ are interested in the getting some.
Talking about the franchise, Royals have been part of IPL since its inception and won the title in 2008, the inaugural edition. However, in 2015, due to spot-fixing allegations, the franchise was suspended for 3 years, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
