UP: Agra SI's body found; cops say he died of cold

AGRA: A 54-year-old sub-inspector of Malpura police jurisdiction was found dead in his rented accommodation on Wednesday morning. According to police, the victim died of cold.
A resident of Virpur village under Pisawa police jurisdiction in UP's Aligarh district, Roop Singh was posted in Agra for the last 10 months.
Speaking to TOI, acting station house officer of Malpura Sudhir Singh said, “After returning from Mathura with a wanted man in chilling cold night, the cop complained about cold and went to sleep in his rented accommodation. Later, he was found dead on his bed.”
Officer Sudhir said, “It was the landlord of Roop Singh who informed us about his death and we found him unconscious but wrapped in blanket. We took him to hospital, but the doctor declared him brought dead.”
The deceased sub-inspector is survived by four children, including three daughters. His body was sent for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, Indian meteorological department recorded Agra’s minimum temperature at 12.4 degree Celsius for Tuesday and Wednesday intervening night with dense fog, which lasted till 9am.
