MHT CET 2019 Registration Started; Know the Eligibility Criteria to Apply

The MHT CET is an engineering entrance examination which is conducted for admission to BE/ B.Tech or Bachelor in Pharmacy courses in the institutes of Maharashtra. Candidates seeking admission to engineering courses through MHT CET 2019 can apply for the same online. The State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra has already commenced the application process of MHT CET 2019 from January 01, 2019. The entrance examination will be conducted from May 2 to May 13, 2019. This year, MHT CET 2019 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Candidates aspiring to appear in MHT CET 2019 are required to go through the eligibility criteria laid down by the examination authority carefully. Candidates will be allowed to appear in the entrance test only after fulfilling the MHT CET eligibility. Keep reading the article for further details on MHT CET 2019 eligibility criteria.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2019

To be eligible to appear in MHT CET 2019, candidates must have passed Class 12 or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board. There is no age limit to appear in this examination. Some of the important points about MHT CET eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Only candidates from Indian origin are eligible to apply for MHT CET 2019.
  • Candidate belonging to a particular Linguistic or Religious Minority community from Maharashtra can apply under Minority Quota.
  • For candidates belonging to the state of J&K, the children of those who are displaced from J&K due to terrorist activities are also eligible to apply.
  • If you are appearing for Class 12 examination in 2019, you can also apply for MHT CET 2019.
  • If you belong to the category such as All India Candidature, J&K Migrants and if you qualify in JEE Main 2019, you are eligible to get admission to Engineering Courses in the institutes of Maharashtra.

Qualifying Examination and Marks – The qualifying examination and minimum marks that candidates need to secure in the entrance test are provided in the table given below:

Qualifying Examination Candidates must have passed class 12 or any other equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics/ Biotechnology/ Biology as compulsory subjects.
Minimum Percentage Candidates belonging to General Category have to score an aggregate of at least 50% marks in the Class 12 examination whereas, for reserved category candidates, the minimum aggregate is 45% marks.

 

How to Apply for MHT CET 2019?

Candidates are required to follow the below mentioned steps in order to apply for MHT CET 2019:

  • Visit the official website of MHT-CET 2019.
  • Click on “Registration for New Candidates”.
  • Click on “Next” after going through all the important instructions given on the page.
  • On clicking, the registration form will appear on the screen.
  • Enter all the important information such as Personal details, contact details, reservation, educational details etc.
  • Candidates need to choose an appropriate password while filling the application form.
  • Enter the Captcha code correctly and then click on “Submit”.

MHT CET Application Fee 2019

The application fee that candidates need to submit to fill the application form of MHT CET 2019 is as follows:

  • Candidates from General Category have to pay an application fee of Rs.800 + Service Charges.
  • Candidates belonging to backward category have to submit Rs.600 + Service Charges as application fee.

Application fees can be paid only in an online mode through Credit/ Debit card and Net Banking.
