Melbourne teenager allegedly kidnapped, Tasered Instagram foe
A fight on Instagram led to a teenager allegedly luring her former school friend to a suburban shopping centre car park to kidnap and Taser her.
Allegedly enraged at being called a "dog" on Instagram, Yasemin Ercan arranged to meet her 18-year-old former schoolmate at a Braybrook shopping centre, in Melbourne's west last year.
Ms Ercan, 19, arrived at the 7.30pm on August 13 meet-up with a male friend.
Together, Ms Ercan and her friend, allegedly got into the 18-year-old victim's car.
Ms Ercan allegedly sat behind the driver's seat, while her accomplice aimed a Taser at the 18-year-old and forced her to drive.
The pair allegedly forced the victim to drive around for 20 minutes, with the Taser pointed at her.
Once outside the car, Ms Ercan is accused of slapping and spitting on the teenager, and then Tasering her.
Ms Ercan, from Templestowe in Melbourne's north-east, is charged with kidnapping, intentionally causing injury, threatening to inflict serious injury and other charges.
Police allege she responded to being called a "dog" with a tirade of text messages telling her former schoolmate she would stab her in the throat, put a bullet in her head and "smash the f---" out of her.
After being arrested last year, Ms Ercan was bailed on a $50,000 surety and barred from using social media.
In Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday, magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg told Ms Ercan she was engaging well with a court support program, although he advised her to undergo more counselling.
"You have got some issues there," he said.
Ms Ercan is due to return to court next month for a hearing that will determine whether she faces trial.
