Man held for killing moviegoer
Jan 22, 2019, 23:39 ISTTirupur: The Udumalpet police have arrested a 30-year-old man for murdering a 25-year-old labourer following a scuffle in a movie theatre.
The victim, D Manikanda Prabhu of Kaliamman layout in Udumalpet, was watching a matinee show in a theatre at Venkatakrishna Nagar in Gandhi Nagar on January 12. “During intermission, he had a quarrel with S Thirumurthy of Mariamman Nagar in Udumalpet, who rebuked him for smoking inside the movie hall. Thirumurthy attacked him with a heavy object. Manikanda Prabhu was undergoing treatment in the Udumalpet Government Hospital for the injuries. He died on Sunday,” a police officer said.TNN
