The Directorate of Education on Monday issued an order to all societies/trusts running nursery/pre-primary schools on government land to submit a compliance report for admission granted to EWS category for the last three years.
The report is to be submitted within three weeks, the DoE stated in its order.
They have also been told to admit 25% of students from weaker sections of the society on “freeship” basis.
“Schools need to ensure they admit at least 25% children of the total strength of the institution or class belonging to EWS of society wherever any fresh admissions are made and grant freeship to them,” the DoE said. It also stated that non-compliance of the orders shall be viewed seriously.
Cancellation of lease
“The same may be brought to the notice of DDA/land owning agencies for cancellation of lease deed of the land of that society or trust,” it said in its order.
