Kudumbashree units will open wayside rest rooms and refreshment centres attached to the petrol vending stations of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. across the State.
These wayside units will offer rest room facilities, coffee, tea and refreshments, magazines/newspapers as well as mobile recharging service.
Four women each
A Memorandum of Understanding on this business arrangement was signed by Executive Director of Kudumbashree S. Harikishore and Territory Manager of BPCL V.R. Harikishan here on Monday, a release issued by Kudumbashree said.
Initially, Kudumbashree will run wayside service centres at Aarammoodu and Thonnakkal in Thiruvananthapuram district and at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district.
These units are being envisaged as micro entrepreneurial units, with four women in each unit.
Training
Kudumbashree has already selected 12 women, who will be trained before being deployed to run the service centres.
The press release said that already Kudumbashree women were operating rest rooms in 63 petrol outlets of Indian Oil Corporation across the State.
