Buzzards Bay Brewing is kicking off 2019 with a new limited release and some distinctive drawers.

The release is Old Bartlemy's Smoked Ale, currently available in the tap room on draft in in growlers.

A release from the brewery offers the following description for Old Bartlemy:

“Eight amazing malts do much a brewhaha make: charming cherry smoked barley, a hint of honey malt, bits of brown malt and captivating copper malt. This is a rich voyage as wave after wave of intricately laced barley dance on your palate.”

On Saturday, Feb. 9, the brewery will hold a Fancy Pants Party.

What’s so fancy about the party? The pants. The actual pants ticket-holders will be wearing.

As they explain:

“Ladies and Gents! You're invited to the party! Break out your finest trousers and shimmy on down 'cause it's gonna be a fanciful night at BBB! And what fun would it be without a contest? Prizes will be given to those wearing the shiniest pants, the wackiest pants, and of course, the classiest pants! Three winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m.”

And that event will also include a couple special treats, including a limited release and a special treat from Fixx Chocolates in Salem.

Buzzards Bay says it will be pouring its limited release WestPorter with a “coffee liquer and cocoa rim and bubbly by the glass from Westport Rivers Vineyard to pair with a Fixx Chocolates exclusive: our very own WestPorter Caramel Chocolate Bar.”

A gourmet candy bar inspired by the brew will be included in the ticket price.
