They were allegedly having an extramarital affair

A man, along with his brother, was booked for murder of a 25-year-old woman who was found dead at her sister’s house in Ajnara Homes Society at Noida Extension on Sunday, the police said on Monday.

The accused were identified as Sonu Chauhan and his brother Rajan Chauhan, hailing from Sarfabad village in Noida. Sonu lives with his wife and two kids while the victim, identified as Susheela from Tappal city in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh was unmarried.

The police said Sonu and the woman were working in the same company in New Delhi and were having an extramarital affair. She had recently quit her job after her parents came to know about the alleged relationship. Since then, she had been living with her sister and brother-in-law at Noida Extension. Differences had begun to grow between the couple.

Sister of the victim, Pushpa Talan, filed an FIR on Monday against the man and his brother accusing them of the murder.

“The man had an extramarital affair with my sister, she wanted to marry him. On Sunday, when my sister was alone in the house, he had come to meet her with his brother. They murdered my sister. We demand strict action against them,” the woman wrote in the FIR.

Accused absconding

Bisrakh Station House Officer Anil Kumar Shai said the accused has been absconding since Sunday night. “He was not found at his house when we went there to question him on the allegations that were raised by the family of the deceased. Meanwhile, we have booked both accused under Section 302 [murder] on the basis of the CCTV footages in which both accused were seen entering the society on Sunday,” said Mr. Shai.
