The Communist Party of India (M) has urged the Government to immediately redress the grievances of teaching and non-teaching staff of society-run government colleges and bring to end their agitation, which has put the students to great hardship

In a statement, R. Rajangam has urged the government to hold talks with the representatives of the Joint Action Committee and resolve the issues they had raised. He also slammed the Government’s decision to implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations only in eight colleges in the first phase and the society-run colleges in the second.

The government should end this discrimination and implement the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations for all colleges in the Union Territory, he said.
