Emirates offers chance to choose onboard entertainment before travel

22 Jan 2019 by Jenni Reid

Emirates passengers can now use the airline’s app to browse their in-flight entertainment options ahead of a trip, create a playlist and sync it to their seat once on board.

The option is currently available on 100 Boeing 777 aircraft and will be rolled out across the entire Emirates fleet in the coming months.

Emirates’ entertainment system Ice has more than 1,000 movies, which it claims is more than any other airline, as well as television shows, podcasts, music and games.

Passengers can also use the Emirates app to look at their flight’s menus and wine lists up to a month before the departure date, and see a 3D map of the interior of its A380 and B777 during seat selection.

Emirates President Tim Clark said:

“This latest functionality on the Emirates app elevates the customer experience even before they step onto the aircraft. Our customers can now browse the unmatched content on offer and create personal entertainment playlists at their leisure, and once comfortably settled in their seats on board, they simply sync and press play.”
