1.4 lakh new voters to get ID cards in February
TNN | Updated: Jan 23, 2019, 02:02 ISTNOIDA: The district administration announced that 1.44 lakh newly enrolled voters will get their EPIC (electors’ photo identity card) from February onwards. The administration had conducted voters’ enrollment drive from September to November and received 1.53 lakh application forms for new enrolment. Some forms were rejected as they were incomplete.
Keshav Kumar, ADM (finance) and deputy district election officer, said that the department has processed all the applications and names added in the revised electoral rolls. “The agency hired for EPIC is working on these new enrolment data. The EPICs will be delivered from the first week of February,” he said. The election department will soon provide training to the BLOs and other officials for preparation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
