'The road rules do apply to you as well': Cyclist who casually made his way through a red light at a busy Sydney intersection fails to see police car
- Cyclist ignores red light before making his way across Victoria Rd in Balmain
- The cyclist is fortunate not to hit a car turning right into Darling St seconds later
- Police car on the scene then flashes light before issuing an infringement notice
A cyclist caught ignoring basic road rules has infuriated hundreds of people on social media.
The brazen cyclist was captured on dash cam casually making his way through a red light and diagonally across a busy Sydney intersection.
Dash Cam Owners Australia uploaded a video to their Facebook page on Tuesday morning and the response was swift, with over 300 comments and 50 shares within a couple of hours.

Labelled 'Instant Karma', the 20 second clip showed the cyclist making his way across the often gridlocked Victoria Rd in Balmain, 5km from Sydney's CBD.
Ignoring a red light, the cyclist was fortunate not to collide with a car turning right into Darling St.
Justice was seemingly served seconds later, with a police car which happened to be on the scene flashing its lights before presumably pulling the cyclist over for an infringement notice.
A spokesperson from NSW Police was unable to confirm if the cyclist was fined.
In 2018, the NSW government passed a law that vehicle owners must leave a 1m gap when passing a cyclist, or 1.5m when driving at speeds above 60km/h.
Motorists who fail to leave enough space can be fined $330 and also lose two demerit points.
