Trio booked for assaulting student in Pune

PUNE: The MIDC Bhosari police have booked three young men for allegedly assaulting a college student near Indrayani river on late Thursday night over a trivial issue. The student has sustained serious head injuries in the incident and has been administered seven stitches by the doctors.
The injured student Saurabh Sanjay Ganjale (18), a resident of Moshi, has lodged a complaint with the police. According to police, Ganjale is a junior college student. The junior college is affiliated to a school.
According to police, the student and some of his friends had gone to the riverside late in the evening after college. The students were having a chat when the three men, who hail from different parts of Pimpri Chinchwad and Kondhwa, reached the spot.
"The trio too started talking to Ganjale and his friend. However, their conversation took a violent turn and they started hurling abuses at each other. The trio at first kicked and punched Ganjale’s friends Nagesh Pathare and Aadesh Tilekar. Ganjale intervened but one of the accused took out a sharp weapon and hit Ganjale with it," cops said.
Ganjale fainted on the spot and was taken to a hospital.
