IMA to donate ambulance for city police

Thiruvananthapuram: The district unit of the Indian Medical Association will donate an ambulance to the city. It will be handed over on Tuesday. This is the second ambulance being donated by the IMA to the police for helping the trauma care patients.

City police commissioner S Surendran will hand over the keys of the ambulance to corporation mayor V K Prashanth, said district president of IMA Dr Anupama. The ambulance is sponsored by the IMA and Dr Ramesh Kumar Foundation, USA.


The IMA has networked thousands of ambulances in the state under its Trauma Rescue Initiative programme. The helpline number of the ambulance network is 9188100100.


The IMA is jointly operating the ambulance network with the city police to help the trauma care victims. The IMA is negotiating with more ambulance drivers to become the party of this network.
