Bhopal: Local Congress corporators are demanding Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor’s candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the state capital. In a letter written to AICC president Rahul Gandhi, Congress corporator Yogendra Chouhan aka Guddu Chouhan has demanded that the Bollywood star be made party’s candidate for the election. He said that the Congress president should field her from the state capital as she has connection with the city’s royal history. Kareena is the daughter-in-law of the city as her husband Saif Ali Khan is son of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, head of former royal family of Bhopal. The next election is crucial for us and we need to take it seriously, he said. “I have also spoken about the issue to other corporators including Amit Sharma and he agreed with me. When asked why not Sharmila Tagore, he says that she has already been part of elections when Pataudi had contested from the city. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Nawab Pataudi has contested the polls from Bhopal in 1989.
