HYDERABAD: A dentist from Nallakunta has been arrested following a cheating complaint filed by his daughter’s legal representative on Saturday. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case for cheating and criminal breach of trust against the dentist. He was arrested on Saturday and sent to judicial remand.

“In 2003, the dentist’s first wife had filed a complaint alleging cruelty on his part. He had made a settlement deed wherein he promised to pay her a monthly maintenance and even issued two cheques for ? 5 lakh each for the welfare of their daughter. Following the settlement deed, the first wife had withdrawn the complaint. The dentist later went on to get a divorce but the complainant alleged that he had failed to honour the cheques and had cheated his daughter,” said Nallakunta inspector S Srinivasulu.
