Punjab: Khanna police recover 4kg ganja from Bihar resident

LUDHIANA: Khanna police have arrested a drug peddler after they recovered four kilograms of ganja from his possession on GT Road in Doraha. The accused was identified as Babu Maji of Jamnia Bisamberpur in Gopalganj district of Bihar.

SSP Khanna, Dhruv Dahiya, said that the police have started a special campaign against the drug trafficking and misdemeanors. He added during this campaign police party was present at Hi-Tech Check post on G.T Road in Doraha for checking the suspected vehicles and persons.

Police officials said that during checking, police party saw a person coming from bus stand. They added that after seeing the police party, the person tried to return.


The police party stopped him on suspicion for checking. It added that during questioning, the person identified himself as Babu Maji.


Police officials said that on checking the polythene bag he was carrying in his hand, police party found 4 kilogram of ganja in it. They added that a case under sections 20/61/85 of NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Doraha police station and he was arrested.


SSP said that the accused is still being questioned and there is a possibility of major disclosures from him.
