GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore on Monday appealed to citizens, VVIPs, celebrities and others to “check and recheck” their names or to enrol their names in GHMC portal or the CEO Portal etc., for enrolment of names in the voter lists as the date has been extended to February 4.

A special campaign for revision of electoral rolls is currently under way till Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. where all the block-level officers will be available at the polling stations. Citizens can utilise the opportunity to verify their names, and for the benefit of those whose names were deleted in the last survey a door-to-door verification is on.

Citizens present at their houses would get their names included in the electoral rolls. Those who have completed 18 years of age as on January 1, 2019, are eligible for inclusion in the voter lists. Drop boxes have been kept in all degree and engineering colleges for the enrolment purpose.

Swachh Bharat

Mr. Dana Kishore said the Swachh Bharat Mission officials would visit various areas in the city for checking of the Swachh Survekshan works etc. Hence, he appealed to the citizens to give correct information on the works taken up by GHMC officials in their areas for the Swachh Survekshan 2019.

A team of officials from the Central Government was in the city for the survey with regard to ODF plus from the last two days and the GHMC was expecting a good rank. The GHMC Commissioner, the District Election Officer, had got a State level award for conduct of Assembly election and for this he thanked his entire staff, stating it was a united effort.
