TO THE EDITOR:
Choosing a wagon over a sedan or SUV is a no-brainer ("Station wagon finds niche in market dominated by crossovers, SUVs," autonews.com, Jan. 7). Over the years, my family has driven VW, Audi, BMW and Volvo wagons. Each of them has handled like their sedan counterparts but offered bonus cargo capacity that SUVs of comparable size usually can't match. Whenever I'm in Europe, I'm amazed at how popular wagons are there. Glad to know American consumers are beginning to appreciate wagons, too. Now if wagons with manual transmissions were more widely available, I'd be really happy!
