Without forming an alliance with any political party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, of which it will certainly win at least seven against four seats won by it in 2014. President of the Punjab unit of the AAP will be appointed soon. Stating this here today, AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that during the five-year regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, the people of the entire country were in a state of harassment as both had ruined the country with their policies. He said in case their government (Modi-Shah) came to power in the year 2019, they would break the country into pieces.

Kejriwal said that the entire country wanted to defeat the BJP in the 2019 elections. This was the reason that all major political parties of the country had been forming “Mahagathbandhan” (grand alliance) to defeat the BJP and had given a call to work in an united manner in this direction, he added. Kejriwal also said that Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann, in the presence of his mother and people of Punjab, took a pledge today not to touch liquor. He said Mann had also told him that in his earlier profession, many artistes drank liquor and he was also one of them. To a question that whether the new political party of suspended AAP MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira will affect AAP in the elections, Kejriwal just said that he offered best wishes to Khaira.
