Yamaha Motor India to invest ₹100 crore more

Yamaha Motor India will invest an additional ₹100 crore during the next three years in marketing to promote its brand in India, a senior company official said on Monday.

The Indian arm of Yamaha Motor Company had announced in 2015 that it would invest ₹1,500 crore for three years ended 2018. The new investment will promote the brand in both digital and print media, Motofumi Shitara, chairman of Yamaha Motor India, told reporters.

Yamaha unveiled its third generation sports models, FZ-FI, FZS-FI, FZ-25 and Fazer 25,which comply with the BS-VI safety norms, at prices ranging from ₹95,000 to ₹1,43,000.

The sports model retail sales grew 23.07% from 2,73,000 units in 2017 to 3,36,000 units last calendar year, mainly driven by FZ15.

The company’s scooter sales fell 11.7% to 3,64,000 units during the same period.
