The Manchester United left-wing debate is continuing to divide fans.

Caretaker Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who oversaw a seventh successive victory on Saturday since taking charge following Jose Mourinho’s sacking, has intimated that he could make changes to his line-up for their FA Cup fourth round clash with Arsenal this weekend.

Following Saturday’s win over Brighton Solskjaer suggested that he could hand Alexis Sanchez his second start since taking charge when United go to the Emirates on Friday.

However, the majority of Manchester United fans polled by the MEN don’t believe Anthony Martial should be dropped to accommodate Sanchez in the team for this weekend’s blockbuster FA Cup game.

“He’s obviously not 100% match fit,” Solskjaer said of Sanchez, who was an unused substitute against Brighton. “Because he’s been out for quite a while. But possibly he’ll be in the team in the FA Cup next week.”

France forward Martial has made the left wing berth his own with some fine performances over the past three-and-a-half months but the introduction of Sanchez against Arsenal could see him lose his place in the team as the Chilean’s favoured position is also on the left flank.

So, it was put to United’s fans on Twitter whether they would like to see Sanchez start instead of Martial.

Of the 3,784 users to respond to the poll, 42% said Sanchez shouldn’t replace Martial, while 27% said both men should play.

Just 31% voted in favour of Martial missing out altogether in order to accommodate United’s struggling No.7, who has scored just four goals in 32 appearances for the Red Devils after having averaged almost a goal every other game during his three-and-a-half year Arsenal career.
