Did Mumbai Indians ask BCCI to speed up Hardik Pandya investigation?

Pandya plays for MI in the IPL. (TOI Photo)NEW DELHI: IPL franchise Mumbai Indians is learned to have spoken to the Indian cricket board (BCCI), requesting that Hardik Pandya's case be probed speedily, according to sources close to both the BCCI and MI.
However Reliance Industries' CEO (Sports) Sunder Raman denied any such move and said, "MI has nothing to do with this." BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary was not available for comment.

Before Pandya and Rahul were suspended pending enquiry, COA chairman Vinod Rai had suggested a two-match ban. However, his colleague Diana Edulji said this would seem like a cover-up and demanded a proper probe.
Some former cricketers, including Sourav Ganguly, have suggested that it is time to penalise the players and move on. Acting BCCI president C K Khanna had floated the idea of allowing them to continue playing as an inquiry is pending.
However, several of Khanna's colleagues are insisting on a BCCI special general body meeting to tackle the issue, saying disciplining errant cricketers is a policy decision that can only be handled by the general body.
The matter is now before the Supreme Court, with the next hearing scheduled for January 25. Meanwhile, Pandya and Rahul are in a state of limbo, with concerns being expressed that their prolonged absence could be bad news for India's World Cup hopes.
