Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad inaugurated at MIT

Pune: The youths, aspiring to be the leaders of this country, will face several challenges in future, like economic crises, clearance of debt in front of them, said Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha and noted journalist Harivansh Narayan while speaking about leadership at the inaugural function of 9th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad in MIT World Peace University (WPU) on Friday.

To tackle these problems, educated youths need to enter politics, stated Narayan, who was present as the chief guest for the inaugural event.

“The problems of nuclear war, rising population and unemployment would be solved only if educated and committed youths enter politics. The youths should understand that now the world would be changing on the strength of technology. Also, the culture of vote politics would be changed only if educated youths enter politics,” he said.

The three-day event is organised by Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad Foundation, MIT WPU and MIT School of Government, Pune. It is being supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Higher and Technical Education and State Ministry of Sports and Youth Welfare, UNESCO Chair for Human Rights, Democracy, Peace and Tolerance, Pune, National Teachers Congress Foundation, National Women’s Parliament and TATA Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) among others.

Biman Banerjee, a speaker from West Bengal State Legislative Assembly, was felicitated with Ideal Legislative Assembly Speaker Award. “Character building is extremely essential for nation building. We want to encourage students to enter politics,” said Banerjee.
