Eight people died Monday after a boat carrying around 26 people capsized near Karwar in Karnataka. A team of fishermen and Coast Guard have rescued 17 people while the search for another missing person is underway.
Within a few hours of the incident, the Indian Navy also launched a search operation off Karwar bridge on Kali river. A Navy helicopter was deployed for spotting bodies and divers have been sent to the spot, ANI reported.
