NEW DELHI: The special cell of Delhi Police has busted a big international drug cartel operating out of the 'Golden Triangle' and seized heroin worth Rs 80-100 crore. Six smugglers have been arrested and hunt is on for other members of the syndicate.
DCP (special cell) Sanjeev Yadav confirmed the developments to TOI. "Further probe is underway," he added.

The heroin was smuggled into the country from Myanmar and brought to Delhi via Manipur.

At first, cops seized a part of the consignment after intercepting an Ertiga car on a tip off. Around five kilograms of heroin was found concealed in the cavities of the car.

The cops then tracked down the truck which was carrying the rest of the consignment.

The smugglers belong to Bareilly of Uttar Pradesh. They are being interrogated for more details.
