Man in debt found dead in stream

GREATER NOIDA: A 31-year-old man who was missing for the last four days from Dadri area of Greater Noida was found dead in Banjpur river stream in Dankaur early on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Vikas Sharma, a resident of Alpura village in Dadri. He was living in Mandoli area of Delhi with his wife and a kid and worked with Uttar Pradesh Bridge Corporation Limited as a technical helper. He was apparently missing since January 16 after he left his house to visit Dadri for a day.
Police said Sharma may have committed suicide after being caught in a debt trap. His motorcycle and other belongings were found lying at a bridge in Dadri on the day he went missing.
Mahesh Chandra, a relative of Sharma said, “He sent a text to a few family members which read that he will not see them again. After that, he switched off his mobile phone.”
The body has been sent for an autopsy and police are investigating the case.
