The Punjab Assembly has issued notice to Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Former rebel AAP leader and MLA from Bholath, for disqualification under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution.

“Mr. Khaira has been given 15 days to file his reply as to why action under the provisions of the 10th Schedule of the Constitution of India should not be initiated against him,” said the spokesperson.

Mr. Khaira had resigned from the party on January 6, but did not resign as legislator. Later, he floated a new political outfit..

Dig at Kejriwal

Separately, Mr. Khaira took a dig at Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Barnala in Punjab on Sunday, saying that his failure to refer to issues pertaining to Punjab such as river-water sharing, the drug menace, unemployment and farmer suicides only reflected the AAP leader’s political bankruptcy.

Mr. Khaira also accused Mr. Kejriwal of being “greedy” for posts.

“The real greedy man for posts is Kejriwal who is having three positions - one of Chief Minister, second AAP supremo and third is chairman of party’s political affairs committee,” he said.
