MS Dhoni is the talk of the town since his comeback to India's one-day international (ODI) squad during the recently-concluded tour of Australia. Dhoni scored a hat-trick of fifties in Australia series ending any concerns regarding his declining form and place in India's World Cup squad. He also became the fifth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli to score 10,000 ODI runs.

MS Dhoni was under scrutiny after scoring only 275 runs in his 20 innings in 2018 with the worst average and strike rate in his career. However, after the Australia series, Dhoni seems to back to his best and will be eyeing another record during the 5-match ODI series against New Zealand.

MS Dhoni requires another 197 runs to overcome Sachin Tendulkar and add another milestone to his name. Dhoni, with 456 runs in 10 matches, is currently third on the list of India's leading run-getters in ODIs in New Zealand against the hosts. The former skipper stands behind Sachin Tendulkar (652 in 18 matches) and Virender Sehwag (598 in 12 matches).

Indian skipper Virat Kohli also has the chance to overtake Md Azharuddin and Rahul Dravid. Kohli is currently at number seven in the list of India's leading run-getters in ODIs in New Zealand with 291 runs in 5 innings. Azhar has 336 runs in 13 innings while Dravid scored 425 runs in his 12 innings in New Zealand. Kohli will need to score 134 runs to overtake the former Indian captains. Interestingly, Ravindra Jadeja is just behind Azhar in the list with 344 runs.
