Two killed in East Champaran village

MOTIHARI: Two domestic workers of one Binay Kumar Yadav were killed on Saturday night at Delho village under Madhuban police station in East Champaran district.

The duo were killed when they were sleeping in the outhouse by a group of armed criminals. The criminals are said to be members of an outfit—‘Azad Hind Fauz’-- and had come in search of Binay, who was a former mukhiya and husband of Manohari Devi, mukhiya of Kaudiya panchayat.

Binay had failed to pay rangdari demanded by a leader of the Fauz, Chandra Ket Singh.

Pakaridayal SDPO Dinesh Kumar Pandey said, “SP Upendra Kumar Sharma along with Madhuban police officers reached the spot and sent the bodies to sadar hospital for postmortem on Sunday.”


Police are conducting raids to nab the criminals and investigation of the case has started. One person has been detained and is being quizzed by police.


“Tension prevails in the village after the murders, but the situation is under control,” said Madhuban police station SHO Amit Kumar.


Police jawans with SSB jawans are camping in the village. RJD functionary Binay Kumar Yadav and an affluent farmer has lodged an FIR in this regard in which he has alleged that Chandraket Singh and Awinash Singh along with 10 others attacked his house at Delho village on Saturday midnight and they made an indiscriminate firing.


“They caught hold of Kapildeo Rai and Rajkishor Thakur (domestic workers) who were sleeping in the outhouse and asked them to call me but as they refused to call me, Kapildeo was shot dead and Raj Kishor Thakur was strangulated,” said Binay Yadav in his FIR.
