Surveys indicate BJP will retain power at Centre, claims Shahnawaz

PANAJI: National spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party Shahnawaz Hussain on Saturday said the recent surveys carried out by his party vis-à-vis nationwide implementation of various public welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government have indicated that the BJP will retain power, following the Lok Sabha election scheduled during the summer of 2019.

Hussain, who was in Goa as part of his party’s strategy involving interaction between national BJP leaders and media persons from various states, said that the Intelligence Bureau also gives regular reports about the inclination of the voters towards various political parties.

“However, the IB had also given reports during the Emergency to Indira Gandhi that she would win if the Lok Sabha elections are held, and we know what had happened,” he stated, pointing out that the surveys carried out by the organisational teams of the BJP right up to booth and panchayat level indicate the BJP continuing in power at the Centre after the forthcoming Lok Sabha poll.

“In fact, the BJP is not satisfied with all the welfare work it has carried out for the masses, like many of the political parties do after carrying out such works,”  Hussain maintained, adding that where others stop thinking

national BJP president Amit Shah starts his thinking process.

Addressing a press conference in the city, Hussain said that Shah has already met the mining dependent people from Goa and the central government is in the process of finding a solution to the mining imbroglio in Goa.

“We are concerned about the problem of Goan mining dependent people and only we can end this problem,” he added.

Hussain termed as fake the audio clip allegedly involving the conversation between state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and an unknown person as regards Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement about Rafale deal.

“Rahul Gandhi regularly demands inquiry into such fake things, and therefore, how many inquiries can the Modi government conduct,” he questioned, recalling that Sonia Gandhi as well as Rahul Gandhi have a fraud case involving Rs 5,000 crore against them.

Terming the Mahagathbandhan or grand alliance of Opposition parties as a deception to fool the people, Hussain said,  “The BJP has a real leader, while the Mahagathbandhan has only dealers.”

He described as a “picnic” the mega rally organised by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee bringing together all national and regional party sans BJP to bring forth a united front for the upcoming general elections.
