On a day when Mayawati decided to make her absence conspicuous at Mamata Banerjee's anti-Modi mega rally in Kolkata, one BJP MLA compared the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief to a kinnar and said she was neither a man nor a woman.
"The day a woman's blouse, petticoat and saree is torn, she comes forward to participate in politics. She is a disgrace to the nation's women. She is worse than a Kinnar, because she is neither a man nor a woman," BJP MLA Sadhna Singh said.
Reacting to her remark, BSP's SC Mishra said, "The words she used for our party chief shows the level of BJP. After the announcement of this coalition (SP-BSP), BJP leaders have lost their mental balance and they should be admitted to mental hospitals in Agra and Bareilly."

Earlier in the day, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said while there were detractors of the mahagathbandhan, his party has already sealed the deal with Mayawati's BSP in Uttar Pradesh.
"BJP is unnerved by our move, they are in a huddle over UP. They are scared they might draw a nil in UP," he said.
Mayawati's close aide Satish Mishra, who was also at the same dias as Akilesh Yadav said the alliance in Uttar Pradesh was a part of the same process that was kicked off from Saturday's rally.
