Woman with tech firm found dead in Haryana well

NEW DELHI: The body of a 25-year-old woman, who went missing from near her home in Najafgarh, was found dead in a well at a farmland in Haryana’s Jhajjar district.
The woman, who worked at a Gurgaon-based tech firm, had been reported missing since Thursday. The body bore injury marks and a medical board has been constituted to conduct the autopsy.
Senior Delhi Police officers said they received the information about the developments and a case has been registered in Haryana. The body was found disrobed and reportedly had multiple injuries, the officer added.
Delhi Police said the woman was last seen near her home on Thursday at 7pm. However, no missing complaint was lodged by the family as they kept searching for her on their own.
The next morning, the Jhajjar police received a PCR call about the body of a woman floating at a farm in their area. The teams went and pulled it out and later identified it to the woman from Najafgarh. The information was relayed to the Delhi Police and the family members were called in for identification.
Following the incident, police officers in Haryana got a medical board constituted to ascertain the exact cause of death.
The CCTV cameras from the area, where the girl was last seen, and the farmland, are also being scanned to probe how she reached there. Police are also probing if she was abducted. The owner of the property has also been called in to join the investigation and check if the woman was known to him.
